I've been absent from blogging for a while, mainly because I was preparing for a couple of major auditions. I prepared for a couple of months and sent my online submissions to "The Voice" and "X Factor".
I know I've never been big on this type of thing and always fought my way justifying that I was an independent artist. I felt that at least I could give it a shot and see what would happen.
TV is TV, so I am not going in with any expectation. Having tried out for American Idol back in 2003 or was it 2004? Anyway, I know that these shows are not at all about talent, but about ratings, about a juicy, emotional story, or the rivalry between contestants. The rounds of auditions are excruciating, and you are not even guaranteed to see the celebrity judges until probably round 4 of auditions.
In any case, I sent my submissions without any expectations, but one thing I did get out of it, was a tremendous amount of hard work on my vocals, a rising self-confidence, and the empowerment to continue to do more.
So, yeah, I didn't hear back from either show. Oh well. I can always try next year, but now I have to put all the focus back into my work, my album release and getting back to doing some shows...
